Liwa Oasis
Liwa Oasis is just a short drive from Ruwais along the E45, set in the Empty Quarter area. It’s known for being the birthplace of the ruling families in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, but is now a peaceful desert area that entices travellers from all over the world. The UAE’s most impressive sand dune is found here (the Tal Mireb) at 100 metres tall.
Sir Bani Yas Island
Just off the coast near Ruwais, Sir Bani Yas Island once housed Arabia’s largest wildlife reserve. Nowadays, it’s still home to a huge number of free-roaming animals, as well as several million trees and plants. There’s also a bird sanctuary onsite and – as a visitor – you can try your hand at mountain biking, archery, hiking, snorkelling, and more. The island is easily reached by driving to the Sir Bani Yas Island jetty, where a water taxi takes visitors between the mainland and island.
Al Marfa
Take Dubai-Ghweifat International Highway and E11 for 50 minutes and you’ll arrive in Al Marfa. This beach town provides a holiday getaway for many locals in Abu Dhabi and it’s the perfect place to spend a relaxing day by the ocean. Indulge in the many restaurants and cafes around town, or simply take in the sunset views.

We accept all major Credit Cards (MASTER, VISA, JCB, DINERS, AMERICAN EXPRESS Credit card should be valid for a minimum of 3 months from the day of Rental and must be physically available at time of vehicle collection. Please note that in all cases, DEBIT CARDS, PREPAID, RECHARGE, APPLE PAY, GOOGLE PAY or VIRTUAL CREDIT CARDS are not accepted as 'security'.
Russian Bank credit cards: As advised by international credit and debit card issuers, we are temporarily not accepting credit/debit cards issued from Russia and/or Russian Banks.
In case of refunds, the customer has to provide another acceptable refund platform to Avis Rent A Car UAE subject to approval to process the refund.
Debit cards are not accepted as a mode of security. We do accept debit cards only for payments.
Pre-authorisations and Security Deposits
Unless confirmed otherwise, the amount of the pre-authorisation taken on pick-up of the rental vehicle is calculated as follows:

* The "vehicle rental price" includes the vehicle rental cost and all optional extras you've requested, calculated at the start of the rental based on the intended length of the rental. For the avoidance of any doubt, any "Pay at Location" amount you owe in relation to the vehicle rental (including any optional extras) will be included as part of the pre-authorisation and will be charged to you at the start of the rental (using the card provided for the purposes of the pre-authorisation, unless agreed otherwise).
The between AED 3000.00 and AED 5000.00 is included as part of the pre-authorisation in case we have to charge you at the end of the rental for any of the following:
i. costs to refuel the vehicle (where relevant);
ii. additional rental charges in circumstances where you fail to return the vehicle or any optional extras at the end of the agreed rental period or to the agreed return location;
iii. any additional charges or fines you incur relating to your use of the vehicle (which we have been notified of prior to you returning the vehicle, which will include, for example, costs relating to traffic violations); and/or
iv. costs incurred as a result of exceeding any relevant mileage restrictions.
Where the pre-authorisation we take does not cover the charges you incur, we will request you make a further payment for the additional amounts owed.
In relation to certain high value vehicles, we may require you to provide us with two payment cards for the purposes of the pre-authorisation. Where this is the case, this will be confirmed when making a booking.
